RE: ACTION TO TERMINATE AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF RECREATIONAL
VEHICLES FOR TEMPORARY QUARANTINE QUARTERS AS NECESSARY FOR
PHYSICAL DISTANCING IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC HEALTH
EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, in March, 2020, the Weld County Health Officer issued a Declaration of
Pandemic Health Emergency, pursuant to Colorado State Statutes and Section 14-10-10 of the
Weld County Code, and
WHEREAS, on March 18, 2020, by Resolution #2020-0940, the Board declared a disaster
emergency in Weld County in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic Health Emergency, and
WHEREAS, in an effort to self -quarantine as appropriate, some Weld County residents
desired to utilize their Recreational Vehicles (RV) in order to maintain safe physical distance from
others within their homes, and
WHEREAS, with few exceptions, living within a RV is generally prohibited by the Weld
County Zoning Code, and
WHEREAS, on April 20, 2020, by Resolution #2020-1173, the Board deemed it advisable
to temporarily suspend the seven (7) -day limitation set forth in the definition of "CAMPING" in
Code Section 23-1-90 until October 31, 2020, and thereby authorized the use of RV's within all
zone districts of the unincorporated area of the County for temporary COVID-19 quarantine
quarters, and
WHEREAS, on December 21, 2020, by Resolution #2020-3803, the Board extended the
temporary suspension from October 31, 2020, through the pendency of the Declaration of
Emergency Disaster as determined by the Board of County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, upon information presented to the Board by Tom Parko, Director of the
Department of Planning Services, the Board believes the need for the authorization of the use of
Recreational Vehicles as temporary COVID-19 quarantine quarters no longer exists.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the temporary suspension of the seven (7) -day limitation set forth in the
definition of "CAMPING" in Code Section 23-1-90, authorized by Resolution #2020-1173 and
Resolution #2020-3803 is no longer necessary and is hereby terminated.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 17th day of February, A.D., 2021.
