RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on May 13, 1974 in the chambers
of the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, for the pur-
pose of hearing the petitioner of Alan Salberg, Rural Route 1, Box 143,
Ault, Colorado 80610, requesting permission to locate a hog farm operation
on the following described property, to-wit:
A parcel of land located in the Southwest Quarter (SWZ) of
Section Five (5), Township Seven (7) North, Range Sixty-Five
(65) West of the Sixth P.M. , Weld County, Colorado, and more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest Corner of said Section 5 which
is the True Point of Beginning; thence North along the
West line of said Section 5, a distance of 400 feet to a
point; thence East and parallel to the South line of said
Section 5, a distance of 800 feet to a point; thence South
and parallel to the West line of said Section 5, a distance
of 400 feet to a point on the South line of said Section 5;
thence West along the South line of said Section 5, a
distance of 800 feet to the True Point of Beginning, con-
taining 7.34 acres, more or less,
and,
WHEREAS, the petitioner was present,
WHEREAS, there was no opposition to the request of petitioner to
locate said hog farm operation on the above-described premises, and
WHEREAS, the said requested hog farm operation is located in
an Agricultural Zone as set forth by the Weld County Zoning Resolution,
and
WHEREAS, according to Section 3.3(3) (c) of the Zoning Resolution
of Weld County, said hog farm operation may be authorized upon the
approval of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners heard all the
testimony and statements of those present; has studied the request of
the petitioner and studied the recommendations of the Weld County
Planning Commission, and having been fully informed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County
Commissioners, that the application of Alan Salberg, Rural Route 1, Box
143, Ault, Colorado 80610, to locate a hog farm operation on the premises
indicated above be, and it hereby is granted under the conditions
following:
1. That any water and sanitation facilities to be installed shall
be approved by the State Health Department.
2. That petitioner shall proceed with due diligence to construct
said hog farm operation and shall have up to one year from date hereof to
begin construction of same; otherwise, the Board may, for good cause
shown, on its own motion, revoke the permit herein granted.
3. That when said hog farm operation is completed same shall be
limited in pen size as indicated on plans as submitted.
4. That said hog farm operation shall not exceed 600 hogs at any
one time.
5. That all applicable subdivision and zoning regulations shall
be followed and complied with in accordance with the Zoning Resolution of
Weld County, Colorado.

Mr. Glen Paul and I both visited this site. I find no fault in
its location or proposed development. The principle part of the
operation is within an existing feedlot and will not be using any
significant increase in land.
I would recommend approval but would abstain from voting due to
the fact that Mr. Salberg is a customer of the Bank.

Dear Sirs:
The Board of Supervisors of the West Greeley Soil
Conservation District made an on site investigation of the
proposed Alan Salberg Hog Production Unit, at Route l.,
Box 143, Ault, CO . It was the opinion of the Board that
the plan is suited to the agriculture area where it is
located. The Soil Conservation Service has made a soil
analysis of the planned site and could find no limitations
for this use.
The Board would recommend the planning commission take
proper action to approve this application.

This it in reply to your regneet for a coil evaluation for the S'I-SWy
Section 5, T.7 N, R.65 N, Weld County, Colorado. Evaluation it to
determine the suitability of the area for a hog feeding program.
The toile in this area are deep to moderately deep, moderately well
drained, moderately fine textured with little or no runoff. There is
tome gravel at about 5 feet in the deeper toile. Mr Salberg intend:
to build a cement lined pit to catch any runoff from the feedlot
iteelf. The area it not subject to flooding. I would anticipate
no pollution from a hog feedlot in this area.
