July 5, 2021 RECEIVED Weld County Board of Equalization P. O. Box 758 Greeley, CO 89631 Sir, JUL 0 7 2021 WELD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS I am writing to you regarding the three (3) "2019 Real Property Valuation Cards" attached to a copy of a Notice of Determination I received from Ms. Dones about mid -June. I have also attached the matching card to \the letter for each of the properties in question. First, we received these 'cards' about mid -May (not sure of the date), however I ASSUMED that the figure on the card showed what would be the new increased tax figure. Of course, figures were higher so I wrote to the County Assessor. Later I spoke with him on the phone with no feeling of my concerns and I felt there was nothing that would be done, so I felt the card figure would be the new tax increase. Then, just recently I received the attached copy of the letter from Ms. Dones, and as you can see on the statement "we have denied your appeal" there is an INCREASE in addition to the increase on the card? What!! The differences in these figures are outrageous. My question is why wasn't the figure on the letter indicated when the card was sent out — TWO INCREASES — how could the letter show a higher increase than the card?? I wish Ms Dones would have indicated how much in dollars this would have been for the 3 copies I have sent as the dollar amount is important — that was done on the card.!! Look at our home 304 Cherry Lane from 269 on card to 291 on the letter — must be an error!! One more thing that statement also says "services it provides to its taxpayer" - oh, we have a fire department, but the area we are located in — IN AULT — does nothing in upkeep — no curb/gutter, no paved road on Railroad Ave north of 3' St — just dirt and dust — the prairie — is this what was referred to as 'services provided" - excuse me, but there are none. Your high tax base is killing us landlords who just get by, now you are forcing us to increase our tenants rent and with the possibility of losing that tenant. I am surprised you don't have 4,000 picketers out in front of the Assessor's office with their discontent. I will not take my time again talking with the Assessor obviously it does no good but still hoping your office will make some kind of reduction — only if your office reduces the figures on Ms. Dones letter to the amount on the cards we received FIRST then I will still have some hope that Weld County does care about it residents/business. This hearing will be held at the Weld County Administration Building, Assembly Room, 1150 O Street, Greeley, Colorado. You have a right to attend this hearing and present evidence in support of your petition. The Weld County Assessor or his designee will be present.
