RESOLUTION RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD CONCERNING PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES FOR ACCOUNT NUMBER R8946415 - TIMOTHY MCKEEN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, State of Colorado, were presented with a Petition for Abatement or Refund of Taxes for Account Number R8946415 at a duly and lawfully called regular meeting held on the 1st day of February, 2021, at which meeting there were present the following members: Chair Steve Moreno, and Commissioners Scott K. James, Perry L. Buck, Mike Freeman, and Lori Saine, and WHEREAS, notice of such meeting and an opportunity to be present had been given to the taxpayer and the Assessor of said County, with said Assessor, Brenda Dones, being present, and taxpayer, Timothy McKeen, not being present, and WHEREAS, the taxpayer had requested the matter be continued to allow him to be present, and after careful consideration, the Board deemed it advisable to continue said matter to Monday, April 5, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., and WHEREAS, at a duly and lawfully called regular meeting held on the 5th day of April, 2021, the Board were presented with a Petition for Abatement or Refund of Taxes for Account Number R8946415, at which meeting there were present the following members: Chair Steve Moreno, and Commissioners Scott K. The basement height was listed as 9ft that would increase the assessment on our house. Our basement ceiling is 8ft high; a 9ft ceiling would have added $14,000 to $16,000 to the construction cost. We feel in light of this new information our assessment should be lower and that should lower our property tax. Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to hearing from you.
