WELD COUNTY ADOPTION DAY
NOVEMBER 19, 2021
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners recognizes the importance of giving
children and youth, who have suffered the impact of abuse and neglect, permanent, safe and
loving families through adoption; and
WHEREAS, more than 60 children in Weld County are waiting for adoption through legal
permanency; and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Human Services will have a special day of virtual
adoption hearings on Friday, November 19, 2021 (in association with National Adoption Day on
Saturday, November 20th) to finalize the adoptions of local children and join other organizations
to celebrate all adoptions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that
November 19, 2021, be known as Weld County Adoption Day, and November 20, 2021, as
National Adoption Day, and we urge all citizens to join in a national effort to raise awareness
about the importance of child welfare adoption.
