I joined 4H in 2nd grade so this is my fifth year. I go to school at Eaton Middle School. My 4 H club is in Galeton. I really like 4H because there are so many choices and you get to pick what interests you. I joined 4H to show chicken because I have always liked birds. My favorite bird is a penguin. I can't own a penguin, so I decided I would like to raise chickens. I have had chickens for my whole life, but started showing them through 4-H so I could find and learn about more excotic breeds. I like to handle my chickens by giving them baths and cutting their toenails. This year is my fifth year showing chickens. This year has been a little hectic. We had a fire and 2 of our chicken coops burnt down. We were able to rebuild but it took a lot of time. I purchased several of my favorite breeds to show this year at the fair in March. I will be exhibiting my chickens from July 29th - August 1st at Island Grove Regional Park. Additionally in 4H, I was able to go to state in shooting sports. I am excited for the county shoot and enjoy practicing at home. My favorite gun to shoot is my peep sight air rifle. This year I decided to try something new, and took on the welding project so I can learn more about the art. I hope you can attend the Weld County Fair Junior Livestock Auction Monday August 2nd at 3:00pm. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call the Weld County Livestock Office at 970-304-6535. Thanks once again for your support last year. Thank you so much for your time, Sincerely, adr, Dakota Lannin Xre,gz g (rnnnUn1CC&+ions cc.: E,xCSm) 7/off/2I o7/i2/21 2021-1834 June 28, 2021 Weld County Commissioners 1150OSt, Greeley, CO 80632 Dear Weld County Commissioners, RECEIVED JUL 062021 WELD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS My name is Samantha Lanning and I am 10 years old. I joined 4H in kindergarten as a cloverbud. So this is my second year as a full 4H member. I go to school at Benjamin Eaton Elementary School. My 4 H club is at Galeton. I really like 4H because you get to learn new things and do fun activities. I joined 4H because I wanted to learn more about my animals and I thought it would be fun. Last year I showed chickens, did cake decorating, and shooting sports. This year I am showing my two goats named Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks. I decided I wanted to show goats this year because they are fun animals that have their own personalities. I like that I get to show chickens because they are small enough that I can do it on my own. I bought my chickens from Ace Hardware this year. Shooting sports is fun because I get to learn how to use a gun. Showing goats is fun because you get to learn new things about the animal and there are lots of new expectations that you have to put into showing the goat which is very fun to learn about. I got my goats from a breeder in Fort Morgan. I will be exhibiting my chickens and goats from July 26th - August 2nd at Island Grove Regional Park. I am glad that there is a fair and excitement to show my projects. I hope you can attend the Weld County Fair Junior Livestock Auction Monday August 2nd at 3:00pm. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call the Weld County Livestock Office at 970-304-6535. Thank you so much for your time, Samantha Lanning Hello
