lo{iy,
Dear Commissioner Billings:
As a result of our recent meetings relative to the City of Greeley furnishing
communications facilities for the County until such time as the County is
able to complete their permanent facilities, as Director of Communications,
I feel that I can support this arrangement under the following terms:
1. That the firm quotation submitted by Motorola Communications for the
necessary equipment, to match the existing equipment in the city's
communication center be furnished by Weld County; the cost is:
Equipment $ 11,972.00
Installation 1,795.00
$ 13,767.00
2. That an additional five full time employees be hired as operators, to
be hired under City of Greeley administrative rules and wages, and
to be under the direction of the Communications Division of the City
of Greeley. Our present starting wage for Communications Operators III
is $460 per month, and the City's cost per operator for fringe benefits
is $48 per month, or a total cost to the city of $508 per month, per
employee. The total cost to the County on an annual basis will be:
$ 30,480.00
As we have no way of forseeing exactly what the increase in communications
traffic will be, these figures are an estimate of the minimum it will take
to proceed with the agreement, and we request that such stipulations be
made in the agreement to allow some flexibility toward a mutually satis-
factory operation.
Very truly youre, 1
Bruce Forbes, Fire Chief
