RE: DECLARE CERTAIN EQUIPMENT AS SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZE
DONATION OF SAME TO PLATTE VALLEY AG DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, State statute and the Weld County Code require that all items disposed of be
declared surplus by the Board of County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, the County has determined that certain equipment, described as a metal
cattle tie outs, are no longer required for County use, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a request from the CSU Extension
Service of Weld County to donate said equipment to the Platte Valley Ag Department, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to declare said equipment as surplus and
authorize donation of said equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the abovementioned equipment, be, and hereby is, declared surplus.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the donation of said equipment to the
Platte Valley Ag Department, be, and hereby is, approved.

PASS -AROUND TITLE: Weld County Fair Old Cattle Tie Outs
DEPARTMENT: CSU Extension

Brief description of the problem/issue:
The Fair does not use our old metal cattle tie outs as we purchased new rock bottom tie outs a
couple years ago. The Fair Board would like to donate them to Platte Valley Ag Deparment
What options exist for the Board? (include consequences, impacts, costs, etc. of options):
We do not use the old tie outs for anything, and they just sit in our storage and by that it is destroying them even more.
We do not rent them out to anyone, so there is not profit loss from donating them to Platte Valley. Platte Valley will
then use them for various events.
Recommendation:
The Fair Board recommends the donation of the old metal cattle tie outs to Platte Valley Ag
Department.
