HomeMy WebLinkAbout20213348.tiffPROCLAMATION UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS DAY WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2021 WHEREAS, the University Bulldogs volleyball team competed in the Class 3A state championship against the Lamar Savages Saturday, November 13 at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs; and WHEREAS, after dropping the first set to Lamar, strong teamwork enabled the Bulldogs to beat Lamar in the final three sets 25-22, 25-17 and 25-17 to win the state championship; and WHEREAS, the championship victory exemplifies not only excellent play near the end of the season but determination throughout a season that required the Bulldogs to regain momentum after dropping two of three matches in October as well as the opening set to Lamar in the state championship game; and WHEREAS, talent, teamwork, dedication and hard work aided University in finishing the season 25-4 and on an 11 -game win streak. While the traits mentioned above were critical in helping the Bulldogs capture the state title, they will also serve players well as they move forward in life in pursuit of other goals. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that the eighth day of December 2021, be known as University Bulldogs Day. We congratulate players, coaches and parents on a historic and memorable season, culminating in the volleyball program's first ever state championship.
