Schmidt has by Quit Claim deed of date , September 24th, 1908, duly signed , acknowledged and delivered, dedicated to the county of Weld for road purposes only , the following described piece and parcel of land , viz: -- A strip of land forty (40) feet in width off the entire south side of the S .E . of Section 30 , Tp . 6N . , R. 64 west . THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED By the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County , Colorado , for : the use and benefit of the traveling public; that said offer of dedication of said piece and paroel /J 74 _ _ _ _ • _ • of land for use as a public highway be andrthe same is hereby accepted and that the same be and is hereby established as and declared to be a public highway, and shall be known hereafter as part of public highway number 535 .' IN THE MATTER OF PETITION FOR ROAD IN TOWNSHIP 8, N. , RANGE 65 WEST . A petition signed by E L Hensley and others praying for the laying out of a public highway 60 feet in width , described as follows , viz: -- Commencing at the N E Corner of section 27; Tp . BN. , R. 65 West , running thence due 0o South two miles between sections 26 and 27; 34 and 35 to the S E Corner of section 34 , said 5if township and range . The center of the road to be the section line . Commencing again at the S W Corner of section 27, Tp . SN , , R. 65 West , running due east two miles between sections 27 and 34 and 26 and 35 to the S E Corner of section 26 , same township and range . The center of said road- to be the section line was presented to the Board when the following action was taken and entered of record , towit : -- It appearing to the Board that the right of way for said road through patented lands is do— t nated by the owners thereof, and the Board believing that the public good requires the laying out of said road , on motion it was ordered that the prayer of the petitioners be granted, and the line of road prayed for be and is hereby declared a public highway. The clerk is directed to record the petition, plat the road as granted , and notify the Road overseer of the proper district to open said road to travel at once . % 17 IN THE MATTER OF VIEWERS REPORT ON ROAD IN TOWNSHIP 5N . , RANGE 64 WEST. The report of R W DeVinny , S P Bryant and J Willis Hill , viewers appointed September 18 , 1908 to view the following described line of road , viz: -- Commencing at the S W Corner of section 16 , Tp . 5N . , R. 64 West , running thence east one mile to the S E Corner of said section; thence south between sections 21 and 22 on sec- tion line one half mile , more or less , to intersect present county road south of railroad. Said road asked to be made 40 feet wide . was presented to the Board when the following action was taken and entered of record ,towit : Y The Board having carefully considered the report of the viewers herein, as well as the eb- 0 jections made thereto , and finding the report correct as to form, and . believeing the public good sn 1� requires the laying out of said road as recommended by the viewers , it was on motion ordered, that the report be approved and adopted, and the road therein described and recommended by the viewers be and is hereby declared a public highway . The abstract of Assessment for The Green City , Irrigation District as re- turned by the County Assessor was then presented and shows the number of acres in said district to be 1 ,925 , with a Grand Total valuation, ( computed at the rate of Ten Dollars per acre ) to be 4 $19,250 .00 . The Board now being in possession of all the necessary information in the premises proceeded to make the levy for said district for the year A. D. 1908, and after due and careful consideration it was on motion ordered that the levy for said The Green City Irrigation District for the year A D 1908 be and the same is hereby declared as 404404 ( .BP_0) mills on the Dollar of each and every dollar valuation in said Irrigation District . t b . IN THE MATTER OF LEVY FOR THE 1 HENRYLYN IRRIGATION DISTRICT . The Abstract of Assessment for- The Henrylyn Irrigation Distriot as re- turned by the County Assessor was then presented and shows the number of acres in said district to be 17,280 acres in Weld County and 200 in Adams County, with a Grand Total Valuation of (computed at the rate of Ten Dollars per acre ) $172 ,800 .00 for Weld County and $2000 . for Adams County. The Board now being in possession of all the necessary information in the premises proceeded to make the levy for said district for the year A D 1908, and after due and careful consideration it was on motion ordered that the levy for said The Henrylyn Irrigation District for the year A D 1908 be and the same is hereby declared as EIGHT ( .008) mills on the dollar of each and every dollar valuation in said Irrigation District . And it is further ordered that the clerk of this Board notify the Board of County Commission- ers of Adams County, Colorado that in making said levy they have included the S.E. J. C . Scott , having filed his affidavit showing that in 1890 he ti became the purchaser of tax sale certificates 114 to 117 and 134 to 137 for the S.E.e Section 23 and the N.E.* Section 26 , in Tp . 8N . , R. 60 West ; that said certificates have since been lost and the same have never been redeemed, that he has made diligent search for the same and is still unable to find them, that said tax sale is a cloud upon the title to said land and he asks that the Board, by proper order entered of record , authorize the county Treasurer of Weld County to is- sue his certificates of redemption from said sale . It appearing to the Board that Smith D Phillip has filed his indemnifying bond in the penal sum of $50 . to save and keep harmless the said County of Weld and al3,.. of its officials from all dam- ages that may be occasioned by said redemption without the . surrender of the original certificates of purchase , it was , on motion ordered that the County Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to issue proper redemption certificates for said real estate from the tax sale of 1890 upon payment to him of the proper fee therefor . TISDEL 1 EPEAS, Almighty god in the exercise of gis divine will, has removed, from this world and the busy cares of life , PERES A . T I S D E L . THEREFORE, we , the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Weld and State of Colorado , for and on behalf of all the citizens of said county pay our last sad tributes to the MEMORY S. of the departed, and hereby express our deep appreciation of the many and lasting obligations we as citizens , owe to him, and by these words and outward tokens express our sincere sorrow for the loss our county has sustained by his death . Mir . Tiede' came here several years ago and ever since has been closely identified with this community because of his charitable work as he had a heart which ever beat for the downtrodden and poor and oppressed. His theory of charity was to help the needy help themselves . In a remarkable degree he possessed the characteristics necessary to accomplish what he did in the work he chose without thought of compensation and ministered to the poor day in and day out , rain or shine . Some sixty odd years ago , when but a boy, MR. TISDEI,. moved from his native home in Miohigan to eastern Kansas , and during the perilous days following bore an honorable part as a Union Soldier and Officer for the Federal Government ., Upon his muster out he forsaw the growth and resources of the then Great American Desert , and by his great perserverance, all of us can truly thank him. for being among the builders who cleared, the way for the settlement of that great desert, during all the vicissitudes always attending the struggles of the pioneer. • • Mtr . , TISDEL has religiously devoted a large . part of his time for years , prior to the time he came to Weld county , ministering to the poor, . therefore BE IT RESOLVED, for his exertions , to ameliorate the conditions of suffering humanity at all times and under all circumstances , the members of this Board, and the citizens of this county, ewe him a debt of gratitude; hundreds of families owe their happiness to him; and we sincerely deplore his death and express our heartfelt sympathy with his sorrowing family . . The year for which the janitor , E. G. Crawford , was last hired being at an end , and the Board recognizing in Mr . Crawford a good and faithful servant , he having preformed his duties as such janitor to the satisfaction of this Board and other County Officials , and the Board rfi believing it to be to the best interests of the County that he be retained for another year , on M allen it was ordered that he be reappointed for the ensuing year , and that his salary as such janitor be One Hundred ( 100) dollars per month . IN THE MATTER OF APPOINTMENT OF SUPERINTENDENT OF COUNTY HOSPITAL. The expiration of the term of Mr . John Knutson as superintendent of the County Hospital being at an end, and the Board having always found him trustworthy and reliable , on motion it was ordered that Mr . KINNEY, CHAS . F. CORIJEW ROBERT PENIX , EDWARD JONES , LeROY JONES and JOHN A HOBAC'K, and thereupon the following matters and things were considered, done and performed. IN THE MATTER OF THE ORGANIZATION OF THE DENVER-GREELEY VALLEY IRRI- GATION DISTRICT . The matter of the petition for the formation of an irrigation district to be known as THE DENVER-GREELEY VALLEY IRRIGATION DISTRICT , petitioned for by: DELIA C . KI NNEY, CHAS. F. THAT the meanS proposed by your petitioners to supply water for the irrigation of the lands embraced within the said district as bounded and described as aforesaid are : By the purchase by the said district of capital stock of the Farmers Reservoir and Irri- gation Company, which stock will entitle the said District to water for the proper irrigation of the lands in said proposed district , ad which stock will entitle the said district to draw water from the system of the Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Compahy , which system comprises a system of ditches , canals and reservoirs owned or to be acquired and constructed or to be constructed by the Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company constituting a general irrigation, reservoir, ditches and storage system, now owned or acquired or to be acquired constructed or in process of construction, by the said the Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company , and having its supply of water from the waters and flood waters of the following named streams , namely : Clear Creek , The South Platte , The Frazer and Grand Rivers and South Boulder Creek, and the head branches or streams and tributaries of each of said streams , and also by a system of laterals , canals and ditches to be constructed and to connect with the mein canals, ditches and reservoirs of said the Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company system; said stock to be purchased from the Denver Reservoir Irrigation Company • under contract , deed or other convey- ance as may be thought advisable between said proposed irrigation district and the said Denver Reservoir Irrigation Company . The said lands described and embraced within the said district are susceptible Of irri- gation from said sources and by said means of supply . The said district also to have power to purchase , lease , rent , condemn, acquire , and to enlarge , construct and thereafter maintain any and all ditches , canals , reservoirs , reservoir sites , rights, water rights, appropriations and priorities, franchises and interests (including those reservoirs , ditches and water rights herein expressly excepted and exempted) , neces- sary for the reclamation and irrigation of lands included in said district , and to have all the power and rights of an irrigation district under the laws of the State of Colorado . Your petitioners select and prppose the name "THE DENVER-GREELEY VALLEY IRRIGATION DISTRICT" as the name for such proposed district .
