In 2003, the entities included in this letter adopted an Intergovernmental Agreement regarding an Access Control Plan (ACP) for the State Highway 34 corridor. At the time that all parties approved this agreement, the Town of Johnstown chose not to approve this agreement. The specific reasons for no action taken by Johnstown I am not aware of and, quite frankly, those reasons I would hope would be not material at this time. As the Town looks forward and takes a more collaborative approach to our transportation planning, the Town is strongly considering adopting this ACP, as it also compliments the Planning and Environmental Linkage (PEL) for the Highway 34 corridor The Community That Care johnstown.colorado.gov P: 970.587.4664 1 450 S. We believe it is in the Town's interest and the interest of other cooperating local governments for the Town to move forward in adoption of this Intergovernmental Agreement. One of the criteria requested by CDOT prior to Johnstown considering to adopt this document eighteen years later, is to gain support or no opposition to our adopting it by the other local governmental entities. Consequently, please consider this letter as a notice as our attempt to adopt the IGA on either April 19, 2021 or May 3, 2021 during a regularly scheduled Town of Johnstown Council meeting. In the interim, if you have any opposition or concerns regarding us adopting this document, please feel free to contact me directly at your convenience. You can reach me at 970-578-9601. The Town of Johnstown wants to be collaborative and a participatory entity in these local government planning projects and we would hope that you would support our engagement at this time.
