HomeMy WebLinkAbout20211017.tiffPROCLAMATION ERIE TIGERS DAY - MONDAY, APRIL 12, 2021 WHEREAS, at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, the Erie Tigers cheer and pom teams competed in the Class 4A state spirit championships on March 25 and March 26; and WHEREAS, coming off of a state championship last season, on March 25, Erie's cheer team picked up where it left off by continuing a standard of excellence. With a score of 91.50, the Tigers bested Lewis Palmer, Standley Lake and Niwot to claim their third consecutive state championship; and WHEREAS, one day later, the poms team raised a championship trophy. Earning a score of 87.73, Erie finished ahead of Evergreen, Roosevelt, Mullen and Pueblo County to win the Class 4A state championship; and WHEREAS, the success of both teams is a result of hard work, dedication and a consistent desire to improve. We commend our young people, their parents and their coaches on two remarkable accomplishments. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that Monday April 12, 2021, be known as Erie Tigers Day, in recognition of the talent, teamwork and dedication shown by pom and cheer team members, coaches and parents during championship seasons.
