Ashley, Chairman Board of County Commissioners Weld County Courthouse Greeley, Colorado 80631 Dear Mr. Ashley: Thank you for the first biennial compliance report on the former Federally-owned surplus property known as Atlas "E" Missile Site (C-Colo-501-A). The report indicates that the County is behind schedule in its program for development of the site; however, we discussed the situation with your Chief Accounting Officer, Mr. Buss, in a telephone conversation on July 1. While he verified that the site was still not utilized, he re- affirmed the County's desire and intention to develop the property and indicated that he expects work to begin by late summer or, at the latest, next spring. On the basis of his assurances, we accept the report as fulfilling the compliance requirements for the past two-year period. In addition to accepting the biennial report, a representative of this office will schedule an on-site inspection of the property next summer. We will contact you to set up an inspection date.
