The reasons for this lay-off is that the Department is without funds to continue to pay salaries beyond August 19, 1971 and that there is no definite assurance that funds will be forthcoming to relieve this shortage prior to that date. BILLINGS COURTHOUSE • �} a • COLORADO GREELEY, 80631 July 30, 1971 Mr. Eugene McKenna, Director Weld County Welfare Department Greeley, Colorado 80631 Dear Mr. McKenna: Due to the depletion of County Welfare Funds and the position the courts have taken in the matter, the Board of County Commissioners find it necessary to terminate ninty per cent (90%) of the present Weld County Welfare staff. A directive shall be issued by you, the Director of the Weld County Welfare Department, on August 3, 1971 to those employees that are affected by this decision.
