HomeMy WebLinkAbout20222878.tiffRESOLUTION RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 50 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 53 AND 55 FOR APPROXIMATELY FOUR (4) DAYS, FOR CULVERT REPAIR WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a): "...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of the traffic affected...", and WHEREAS, on the 10th day of October, 2022, the Board deemed it advisable to continue consideration of the proposed temporary closure of County Road 50, between County Roads 53 and 55, to October 17, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., to allow staff further time for project review, and WHEREAS, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations, the Board has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close County Road 50, between County Roads 53 and 55, to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting signs thereon, with said closure being effective October 31, 2022, for approximately four (4) days for a culvert repair. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 50, between County Roads 53 and 55, be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective October 31, 2022, for approximately four (4) days for a culvert repair, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions. cc :so (Rs), o;spQtch, c SP 0 /27 2022-2878 EG0024 TEMPORARY CLOSURE - COUNTY ROAD 50 PAGE 2 The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 17th day of October, A.D., 2022.
