OLDER AMERICANS MONTH
MAY 2022
WHEREAS, Weld County includes a growing number of older Americans who make countless
contributions to our community every day through their strength, wisdom and experience; and
WHEREAS, Weld County is stronger when people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds are
included, encouraged and supported; and
WHEREAS, Weld County recognizes the importance in creating a community that provides the
services and supports older Americans need to thrive and live independently for as long as
possible; and
WHEREAS, Weld County can work to build an even better community for our older residents by
planning programming that encourages and promotes independence; ensuring activities are
responsive to individual needs and preferences; and increasing access to services that support
aging in place.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that May
2022 be known as Older Americans Month. We urge every resident to recognize the contributions
older Americans make to our community.
