I have them all on the Crew Calendar and will plan to have the crew help with as many as possible. We do typically take our first West Slope trip the last week of July (25-29), but it's possible we could do that trip a week earlier this year. We will just have to make sure the West Slope species we're planning to treat are ready for us:) Also, we had 2 grants return their awards to us this year, so we were able to spread those funds between 6 different grants. Your grant has been increased and now totals $15,000. I will send an official notification letter ASAP. Thank you, and let me know if you have any questions! Due to multiple 2022 awards being returned, we are pleased to inform you that the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) was able to increase the funding for your project, "Northern Weld County Eradication of List B species" for to an amount up to $15,000. Your grant will be a combination of Weed Fund and State Et Private Forestry funding. For this year's funding, there are several things to keep in mind when implementing your project: • This notification letter does not constitute the start date of the grant. CDA will work with you to develop a Statement of Work (SOW) with a summary budget that wilt be incorporated into your grant agreement. • All grant funds are available on a reimbursable basis only. The funding received must be matched on a 1:1 basis, and for SPF funds, a 1:1 non-federal match is required. Matching contributions may be incurred up to 90 days prior to your start date. • Once you have received the approved Grant Agreement and attached Statement of Work, you can begin incurring expenses that are reimbursable. • You may be required to submit a W-9 to verify your tax ID number and current address. • As your grant will contain SPF funds, you will need to inform your local Forest Service Representative and share your progress through the grant process. I will contact you soon to discuss the terms and requirements of your SOW, and we wilt have a Grant Agreement issued as soon as possible after we finalize the SOW together. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. This year we received over $1.1 million in funding requests, however only $798,000 was available from Weed Fund and State Ft Private Forestry sources. This made the review committee's decisions very difficult due to the number of competitive projects worthy of funding, and partial awards were more common than full awards. We are pleased to inform you that the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) has selected your project, "Northern Weld County Eradication of List B species" for partial funding in 2022 for an amount up to $11,050. Your grant will be a combination of Weed Fund and State ft Private Forestry funding. The highly competitive nature of project funding led the review committee to look very carefully at all aspects of each proposal. Reviewers felt that to improve your proposal's ranking in future grant competitions, you might consider: • Lessening the amount of cost -share provided to individuals (80% is very high), and showing how you eventually taper landowners off cost -share funding. • Providing metrics on landowner cost -share progress and noxious weed reductions over time. • Providing maps that differentiate between species and/or show cost -share participants.
