HomeMy WebLinkAbout20221822.tiffPROCLAMATION HAILEY FREDERIKSEN DAY MONDAY, JUNE 27, 2022 WHEREAS, originally from Platteville, Hailey Frederiksen has long had a passion for agriculture, rodeo, and ag-related education; and WHEREAS, throughout her life she's pursued each of these passions as a member of 4-H and rodeo royalty. After being crowned Johnstown Saddle Club Princess at age 12, she became focused on being named Miss Rodeo Colorado — a goal she accomplished in 2020 after graduating from Colorado State University in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in animal science; and WHEREAS, Hailey utilized her status as Miss Rodeo Colorado to have a positive influence on youth through social media. She created the Kids' Corral, an outlet that allowed her to share ag-related knowledge through reading books and hosting interactive sessions with various guest speakers; and WHEREAS, with a desire to influence many others and share her knowledge of agriculture and rodeo throughout the U.S., Hailey set her sights on being named Miss Rodeo America. At the pageant, which took place in Las Vegas on November 28 through December 5, 2021, she competed against 31 other women in events such as horsemanship, equine science and public speaking. Her hard work paid off as she was named Miss Rodeo America 2022; and WHEREAS, agriculture is a practice and way of life highly valued in Weld County. The effort Hailey has put forth to promote her love of agriculture and rodeo positively throughout Weld County and now nationally brings us great pride. We thank Hailey for the positive influence she's had and wish her nothing but success representing Weld County and northern Colorado on a national stage. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that the 27th day of June 2022, be known as Hailey Frederiksen Day.
