We are pleased to announce that Oasis Petroleum North America LLC ("Oasis") and
Whiting Petroleum Corporation ("Whiting") completed our previously announced merger
on July 1, 2022, and we began our new journey as Chord Energy Corporation. The word
"Chord" is frequently used to describe multiple musical notes sounded simultaneously and
harmoniously, while an alternative definition is a line segment joining two points on a
circle. Chord Energy represents the joining of separate entities whose complementary
strengths create something more formidable than either independent entity. Together the
new company is positioned to prosper and deliver value creation through the constantly
evolving energy landscape.
Chord Energy is a premier Williston Basin -focused independent exploration and
production company, with top tier assets across approximately 972K net acres and
production of approximately 165 thousand boepd. With significant scale and cash flow, we
are excited to play an even larger role in the development of North Dakota and Montana's
world -class oil and gas resources. We will continue to be responsible stewards of the areas
in which we operate and will maintain an active presence in these communities.
Importantly, we will continue to work with you as we always have. There is no
change to your contract(s), lease(s) or existing point of contacts, as
applicable. You will continue receiving uninterrupted payments from the
Oasis and/or Whiting entity from which you are already receiving payments.
We will update you in the future if changes will be made as a result of our
ongoing integration efforts. Similarly, any payments due to Oasis and/or
Whiting should continue to be made to those respective entities until further
notice.
