Anderson Weld County Courthouse Greeley, Colorado 80631 Dear Mr. Anderson: We have received a Bill of Collection from the Office of Emergency Preparedness in the amount of $42,437.89. This amount represents the difference between $183,300.00 which was advanced Weld County on October 1, 1969; $21,000.00 which was advanced on December 16, 1969 less the amount approved by the auditors $161,862.11. Note that in the approved amount of the audit there was a suspen- sion of $14,547.00 for engineering fees on the Grant-in-Lieu items. This suspension was made by the Federal auditor (see enclosed suspension statement) . The law provides for either repayment of the over-advance or an appeal being made within 30 days of the date of the Bill of Collection. This means that repayment or an appeal must be made by July 21, 1971. If it is your decision to make an appeal, this office will be glad to assist in the preparation of it. In any case, we must receive a reply without delay. The repayment should be made to "Treasurer, State of Colorado" and sent to this office. Thank you. Sincerely, Algid -,teet_i_ William S. Would it be possible for us to have an extension for repayment of the balance of $22,174.69 until after January 1 , 1972. This request is made because the amount was not provided in the 1971 Budget, with our fiscal year being the calendar year, and I am sure you are familiar with govern- mental budgeting procedures. If this approval can be obtained, we would be able to make the above payment after January 1 , and before January 31 . 1972. Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Sincerely. WELD COUNTY.
