Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment

The Weld County Board of Health met on March 22, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. in the second -floor hearing
room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment and by via Microsoft
Teams.
Those present included:
Board Members: Nicholas Berryman, Jeff Reck, Anthony Gallardo, Sandra Owens, Tim Annable and
Linda Kautz.
Others: Holly Smith Public Health Administration, Lauren Light Environmental Health, and Katie
Sall Environmental Health, Cindy Kronauge Senior Health Data Specialist Health Communications
and Olivia Egen PH Initiatives Supervisor.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The meeting was called to order at 9:02 AM. A motion was made by Linda Kautz to approve the
agenda. Jeff Reck seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The board approved the minutes of the February 22, 2022 meeting. A motion was made to approve
by Jeff Reck and Linda Kautz seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT: Holly Smith Public Health Administration Manager
Holly updated everyone on the 2022 Strategic Plan Work Plan. Holly let the Board of Health know
that we currently have multiple surveys going out to the public. (last survey was done in 2018) We e -
mailed the different versions of the survey to each Board of Health members.
Biosolids Renewal:
Denali Water Solutions — Katie Sall presented 7 biosolid renewal applications. No public
comment or concerns were received. Environmental Health recommends approval.
DS -200423, DS -200548, DS -200704, DS -201327, DS -201402, DS -1700002, and DS -2100001,
A motion was made by Linda Kautz to approval the renewals. Jeff Reck seconded the motion and
the motion was carried unanimously.

Community Health Improvement & Community Health Assessment 2022 Update:
What is Chip?
A community health improvement plan. Is community -driven to identify health issues.
A CHIP is considered part of a national standard for all public health departments.
Health is Everyone's Business:
Community Health Improvement, Healthy Eating and Mental Wellbeing & Thriving Weld.
Recap of 2021 Prioritization Process:
Identified 10 Health issues. After round 1 we were down to 5 and after round 2 we were
down to 2.

Next Board of Health in April will be a presentation on Rabies by Kristeen Bevel.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:37 am. Next meeting is April 26, 2022.
