WHEREAS, pursuant to law, the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, is vested with the responsibility of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Welfare is in need of the services of three custodial personnel to be assigned specifically to the County Welfare Department, and WHEREAS, Eugene McKenna, Director of the Weld County Depart- ment of Public Welfare, has submitted three proposed employment contracts relative to employment of three custodial personnel to be specifically assigned to the Welfare Department, and WHEREAS, the Board believes it to be in the best interests of the County to enter into such agreements on the basis recited therein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that said agreements providing for the services of three custodial personnel to be assigned to the Welfare Depart- ment, copies attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, be, and they hereby are approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board be, and it hereby is authorized to execute the agreements as submitted and to make the same effective forthwith. The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 27th day of December, 1972. WITNESSETH: The Weld County Board of County Commissioners, hereinafter re- ferred to as Employer, and John H. Duncan , hereinafter re- ferred to as Employee, are desirous of entering into an employment con- tract governing the relative rights and responsibilities attendant on that employment. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the covenants and agreements hereinafter set forth, the Weld County Board of County Commissioners agrees to hire John H. Duncan as a custodian for the Weld County Department of Public Welfare. TERM: This employment contract shall be for a period of one (1) year, commencing January 1, 1973 and ending January 1, 1974. It is expressly understood by and between the parties hereto that said employee does expressly serve at the pleasure of the said Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado. This contract shall be annually renewed automatically unless specifically terminated by either party. CONSIDERATION: Employee shall receive the sum of Four Hundred Thirty- five Dollars ($435. 00) per month as a salary payable on the h<11 - - �. first day of each month. Employer will make necessary manda- tory deductions for social security, taxes, and retirement to- gether with such optional deductions for insurance coverage as employee may request. VACATIONS AND SICK LEAVE: Employee shall be entitled to normal vacation and sick leave time in each calendar year as set out by and under the direction of the Weld County Custodian of Buildings and Grounds. EMPLOYEE COVENANTS AND AGREES, TO-WIT: To perform custodial services during the regular hours and days of his employment in a good and workmanlike manner under the supervision of the Custodian of Buildings and Grounds for the County of Weld.
