NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK
APRIL 10-16, 2022
WHEREAS, 911 dispatchers play a key role in assisting people when they need it most by
facilitating emergency response; and
WHEREAS, they do so while maintaining a level of professionalism and care in many high-
pressure and uncertain situations. While there are many different occupations, being a dispatcher
is a special calling. To the people they help, they are heroes. Beyond providing critical
instructions to both callers and first responders, dispatchers help provide a sense of calm to
many experiencing the worst day of their lives; and
WHEREAS, their excellence in performing the first step of emergency response has consistently
set a standard of national acclaim, evidenced by the Weld County Regional Communications
Center being named the nation's top public safety answering point and dispatch center in recent
years; and
WHEREAS, such accomplishments are only possible with support from a stellar team. Public
Safety's executive team, radio technicians and training team provide the critical support needed
to ensure the Weld County Regional Communications Center has the structure needed to enable
dispatchers to provide excellent service 24 hours a day seven days a week; and
WHEREAS, it is our desire to celebrate the accomplishments of our Public Safety
Communications team and salute each member of the department for their tireless efforts in
responding to emergencies. Their ability to do is unique, critically important and exemplifies our
commitment of providing the highest quality government services possible.
