RE: APPROVE 2022 ALLOCATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
(CDBG) FUNDS FOR WELD COUNTY OPERATIONAL TRANSPORTATION
SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of
Community Planning and Development, awarded Weld County with Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) funds for fiscal year 2022, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Community Development Block Grant Advisory Committee
(CDBGAC) has been charged with evaluating project proposals and making recommendations to
the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the CDBGAC has recommended the Board allocate $68,775.00 to the Weld
County Department of Public Works' and Senior Resource Services', dba 60+ Ride, Weld County
Operational Transportation Services Project (Project #2022-10), and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said award allocation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) award, be, and
hereby is, allocated as follows: $68,775.00 to the Weld County Department of Public Works' and
Senior Resource Services', dba 60+ Ride, Weld County Operational Transportation Services
Project (Project #2022-10).
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 14th day of November, A.D., 2022.

PASS -AROUND TITLE: Recommendation for Approval of the 2022 CDBG Application (Round 2) for Weld
County Operational Transportation Services — 60+ Ride

Brief description of the problem/issue:
At their November 2, 2022 meeting, members of the Weld County CDBG Advisory Committee voted 5-0 to
recommend awarding the Weld County Operational Transportation Services — 60 + Ride grant project 2022
CDBG funding in the full amount requested of $68,775. This amount will cover an estimated six months of
operational expenses to assist 60 + Ride, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, to support staffing one full time equivalent (FTE)
employee to operate their new wheelchair accessible van which will serve rural Weld County residents with
free transportation services for those needing wheelchair accessibility.
What options exist for the Board? (include consequences, impacts, costs, etc. of options):
