RE: TERMINATION OF DECLARATION OF DISASTER EMERGENCY IN RESPONSE TO
COVID-19 PANDEMIC HEALTH EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on March 10, 2020, Governor Polis declared a State of Emergency to exist
in the state of Colorado because of the COVID-19 Pandemic Health Emergency, and on
March 16, 2020, issued a Public Health Order closing bars, restaurants, theaters, gymnasiums,
and casinos in Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on March 16, 2020, the Weld County Health Officer issued a Declaration of
Pandemic Health Emergency, pursuant to Colorado State Statutes and Section 14-10-10 of the
Weld County Code, and
WHEREAS, on March 18, 2020, by Resolution #2020-0940, the Board declared a Disaster
Emergency in Weld County in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic Health Emergency, and
WHEREAS, the Board now believes the need for said declared Disaster Emergency no
longer exists.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Declaration of a Disaster Emergency in Weld County in response to
the COVID-19 Pandemic Health Emergency, authorized by Resolution #2020-0940, is no longer
necessary and is hereby terminated.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 11th day of July, A.D., 2022.
