RE: PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING THE 2022-2023 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
PROPOSED USE OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS
. = A public hearing was conducted on March 28, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., with the following present:
Commissioner Scott K. James, Chair
Commissioner Mike Freeman, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Perry L. Buck
Commissioner Steve Moreno
Commissioner Lori Saine
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Houstan Aragon
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
CDBG Program Manager, Don Sandoval
The following business was transacted:
=. I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated February 23, 2022, and duly published
February 25, 2022, in the Greeley Tribune, a public hearing was conducted concerning the 2022-
2023 Annual Action Plan and proposed use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Funds, with said plan to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD) in order to receive Entitlement funds to address certain needs of the County.
1.1 Don Sandoval, CDBG Program Manager, presented a brief summary of the annual plan for
grant allocations from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Mr.
Sandoval further stated annually for the next three (3) years, Weld County will have to submit
Action Plans to HUD, and further stated there are no allocations for this grant, thus, this Action
Plan is still in the draft stage. Mr. Sandoval reported staff is seeking public input for this Action
Plan that is currently posted on the County website and various social media outlets; however,
few public comments have been received, this the time to comment has been extended into April
to allow for more participation.
