RESOLUTION
RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC ON COUNTY
ROADS AND AT COUNTY ROAD INTERSECTIONS IN WELD
COUNTY, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, a multitude of complaints have been made to the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that drivers of
motor vehicles habitually drive on County roads and through County
road intersections without regard for the general safety of drivers of
other motor vehicles, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 1963 Colorado Revised Statutes, 13-5-69 (1),
as amended, local authorities, with reference to streets or highways
under their jurisdiction, are authorized to designate through streets
or highways and erect stop signs at specified entrances thereto, and
WHEREAS, said Board, pursuant to such complaints, has deter-
mined upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations that condi-
tions exist which make it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehi-
cular traffic on County roads by posting signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Board deems it
necessary to regulate, warn and guide traffic on County roads and any
intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting
of such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to
regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the safety of the gen-
eral public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the
State Manual and specifications.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners,
Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish the following through
streets or highways for the named portions of County roads which shall
become effective when standard stop signs are erected at the entrances
thereto:
1. County Road No. 59 where it intersects with County Road No. 70.
2. County Road No. 61 where it intersects with County Road No. 70,
all as shown on plats as submitted by the County Traffic Engineer and made
a part hereof by reference.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and
seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 6thday of April, A. D. ,
1973.

1 . LOCATION: County Road 4 7C and County Road 4 61.
2. TRAFFIC : Light with 80% of the traffic using road 461. The
light traffic adds to the traffic hazard .
3. COMPLAINTS : Complaints have been received from several cf the local
residents as this is a blind corder due to the terrain,
and a large farm house on the Southwest corner.
4 . ACTION TAKEN: County road 4 70 has been mae a full stop, both
East and West at this intersection. County Rcad 461
has been made a through Road . This has been properly
signed in accordance with existing rules and
regulations.
5. Request a Resolution be adopted to cover the above action .

County Road # 70 and #59
1 . LOCATION: Intersection of County Road 4 70 and 4 59
2. TRAFFIC: Very light with 85% of traffic using county road 459.
This adds to the hazard .
3. Complaints_: Several complaints have been received on this intersection,
as this is a blind intersection due to the terrain.
4 . ACCIDENTS : Several minor and one ( 1) Fatal have occurred here
recently.
5 . ACTION TAKEN: County road 4 70 has been made a full STOP both East
and 'Hest at this intersection. Road 4 59 has been made a
thru road North and South. This has been properly
signed as such in accordance with existing rules and
regulations.
6 . Request a resolution be adapted to cover the above action .
