Dear Julie,
Please allow this letter to serve as notice to you that it is Weld County's intention to leave the self-
insurance program, effective December 31, 2021. Weld County will be providing Workers'
Compensation coverage through Pinnacol's Workers' Compensation insurance program, effective
January 1, 2022.
Weld County understands we need to provide you a list of all open claims as of December 31, 2021, from
our permit period (1/1/1992-12/31/2021). This will be provided after the first of the year. We also
understand the SIR Workers' Compensation Bond will need to stay in place until all run-off claims are
closed. Because the surcharge is calculated in the rears, we know we will have to pay it one more time for
the last six (6) months of 2021.
