PETITION FOR
ORGANIZATION OF A GROUND WATER
SUBDISTRICT
TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED, PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT :

1. On the /7 day of jJ�ce wcZee ,1972 , pursuant tc
the provisions of the Water Conservancy Act of Colorado, Colorado
Revised Statutes 1963, as amended, Sections 150-5-1 to 150-5-50 ,
both inclusive, there was filed in the office of the Clerk of the
District Court, sitting in and for Weld County, Colorado, a
Petition for Organization of a Ground Water Subdistrict.
2. The general description of the purpose of the said
district and the contemplated improvement thereof is as follows ,
to-wit:
Construction of "Works" as defined in said Water Conservancy
Act for conserving, developing, stabilizing and acquiring supplies
of water for domestic, irrigation, municipal, industrial and
other beneficial uses for lands included within the boundaries
of Central Colorado Water ConseLvailey DisiricL.
To acquire and appropriate waters of the South Platte River,
its tributaries and other sources of supply, and by means of the
"Works" , as defined in said Water Conservancy Act, divert, store,
transfer, exchange, augment, recharge and otherwise apply said
waters to beneficial uses within the territories included in
the "Ground Water Subdistrict, Central Colorado Water Conservancy
District. "
To protect and support the interests of ground water users
within the "Ground Water Subdistrict" by all feasible methods , and
to replace and exchange waters to senior appropriators in order

to prevent the curtailment and regulation of ground water wells
located within the territories included in the "Ground Water
Subdistrict, Central Colorado Water Conservancy District" .
To participate in the acquisition of water rights and
the benefits of all of the filings , statements, applications
for water rights now pending in the Water Courts of Water
Divisions 1, 2 , 4, and 5 under the Water Right Determination
and Administration Act of 1969 and the petition for adjudication
in Water Districts 36 , 37 , 51, and 52 under the Adjudication
Act of 1943, an interest in a conditional decree to Narrows
Reservoir awarded by the District Court in and for the County
of Weld and State of Colorado, and such other applications
and decrees for water rights, augmentation, exchange and water
management as said Central Colorado Water Conservancy District
may determine.
To foster the establishment of operating principles of
ground water users by the establishment of storage reservoirs
in the South Platte Basin which will protect and recognize
existing priorities and statements of appropriation as well as
the present and historical practice of river administration and
exchange to secure highest practicable beneficial use of waters
of the South Platte Basin within the boundaries of the proposed
"Ground Water Subdistrict" .
To improve the efficiency of irrigation, to eliminate •
waste and to promote the conservation of water within the
boundaries of the proposed "Ground Water Subdistrict" .
To promote the purposes of the "Water Conservancy Act"
of Colorado as set forth in Colorado Revised Statutes 1963,
Section 150-5-1, within the boundaries of the proposed "Ground
Water Subdistrict" .
3. The territory to be included in said proposed subdistrict
and the property to be benefited by the proposed subdistrict

lies in the Counties of Weld and Morgan, State of Colorado,
and is described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference and made a part hereof.
4. Public hearing on said petition7 will be had in said

hour of to A. . , by the District Court sitting in and for
Weld County, at the Weld County Courthouse, Fourth Floor, in
the City of Greeley, Weld County, Colorado.
5. All persons as defined in Colorado Revised Statutes
1963 , Section 150-5-2 , including a person, firm, partnership,
association, or corporation owing or interested in property
within the territory above described will be given the opportunity
to be heard at the time and place above specified.

or towns as their boundaries are presently constituted and
shown in the Office of the County Clerk and Recorder of the
Counties of Weld and Morgan, State of Colorado: Fort Lupton,
Platteville , Gilcrest , Milliken, La Salle , Evans , Kersey,
Wiggins , Roggen and Keenesburg.
