RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING TEMPORARY CLOSURE
OF COUNTY ROAD 78 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 19 AND 21 FOR
APPROXIMATELY ONE (1) WEEK, FOR TWO (2) CULVERT REPLACEMENTS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a):
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
said County Road to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting
signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County
roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic
control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon
for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 78, between County Roads 19 and 21,
be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective September 13, 2022, for approximately
one (1) week for two (2) culvert replacements, and further, that standard official traffic control
devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

WCR 23 between HWY 52 and WCR 14.5 is closed from 9/12/2022 thru 10/7/2022 for a bridge re -
deck.
WCR 18 between WCR 67 and WCR 69 is closed from 9/13/2022 thru 9/16/2022 for a culvert
replacement.
WCR 78 between WCR 19 and WCR 21 is closed from 9/13/2022 thru 9/21/2022 for 2 culvert
replacements.
WCR 23 between WCR 6 and HWY 52 is closed from 9/19/2022 thru 9/30/2022 for paving operations.
