HomeMy WebLinkAbout20220305.tiffATTEST: Weld County Clerk to the Boar PROCLAMATION ERIE TIGERS DAY WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 19, 2022 WHEREAS, the Erie Tigers cheer team competed in the Class 4A state spirit championships Friday, December 17, at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs; and WHEREAS, competing against 21 other teams, the talent of the Erie Tigers dominated the competition. Erie finished seven points ahead of runner-up Lewis -Palmer with a final score of 91.45 to win the Class 4A state championship; and WHEREAS, the victory not only exemplifies the talent, skill and athletic ability of the cheer team, but it also serves as an example of the impact our young people can make when a goal is set and accomplished through hard work and determination. It is our sincere hope that when faced with challenges in the future, the cheer team will look back to this season and again utilize hard work and determination to achieve future goals in life; and WHEREAS, the effort by the cheer team's 28 members to win the state championship speaks to the Tigers' talent this year and also exemplifies the continued excellence of the spirit program at Erie High School. The state title won this year is the cheer team's fourth straight. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that the 19th day of January 2022, be known as Erie Tigers Day in recognition of the cheer team winning the Class 4A state spirit championship.
