Hi Chloe, Thanks so much for getting back to me! This is all very helpful. What is the typical timeline for obtaining a Special Events permit? The date of the event is set for May 15th and I want to make sure we would be able to have all permits issued by then. Thanks! I am not aware of an 'event coordinator permit' through Weld County, but it sounds like you first want to contact the Department of Planning Services at (970) 400-6100 to see if there is a permit required to host your event. They should be able to also give you information about whether or not your vendors will need permits. Requirements about having food vendors or having hand washing stations and restrooms available are overseen by the Department of Public Health and Environment, but Planning Services can put you in touch with the Health Department when you speak with them. Specifically in regards to having alcohol available at this event, a standing liquor license or a Special Events Permit would be required. If approved, a Special Events Permit, which is dual licensed by both Weld County and the Colorado Department of Revenue, would allow a qualifying applicant (typically a non-profit or political party) to serve alcohol at the event. I have attached the application forms to this email. My husband and I are planning a small festival / market on our property located at 5610 NE County Line Rd, Erie, CO 80516. We are planning on having various vendors selling home decor, baked goods, plants, etc. I've done some research in regards to the permitting needed and it looks like I need to submit an event coordinator permit. Is that correct? Do the vendors also need to have their own permits? It also appears that there are requirements around hand washing, etc. Does that apply if the vendors are selling pre-packaged food items, such as bread, honey, etc.? If you could provide some guidance here that would be so helpful! We've never hosted an event before so we're a bit in the dark as to how to go about this. Thanks! Janna e Hello
