BOX 758 GREELEY, CO 80632 Ben Snow City of Greeley 1100 10thh Street, Suite 402 Greeley CO 80631 Dear Ben, Thank you for the information on the potential study of the siting of the UNC Medical School with one of the sites under consideration being the downtown county property designated for future court facilities. As the County Commissioners advised you, the Greeley City Manager, other city staff and the Richmark representatives as recently as the last few months, the property is not available for other uses. For nearly 40 years, Weld County Commissioners have had the foresight and patience to assemble property adjacent to the Courthouse/Centennial Complex to accommodate the expansion of future court facilities. To abandon this long - envisioned plan when the county is within 5-7 years of beginning to use the land, would not be in the best interest of Weld County citizens. In considering your plan to study the property, the Board of Weld County Commissioners believes it would not be a sound utilization of resources for UNC to study the county property as an optional site for the UNC Medical School when current and past Boards of County Commissioners have repeatedly told City of Greeley staff and developers the property has long been earmarked for future court facilities and not available for other uses. Therefore, we suggest you look at other alternative sites in the community and exclude the county property in your consideration. We hope you appreciate the county's position regarding our future planning and our unwillingness to part with property critical to the future growth of court and county departments' needs. Sincerely, BOARD OF OOUNTV COMMISSIONERS tt K. James, Chair C: Mayor John Gates Raymond Lee, Greeley City Manager Dr. Andrew Feinstein, UNC President Common : CuL ons 9/►9 /22 2022-2652 Hello
