Greeley, Colorado 80631 • - - Dear Mr. Walters, . The Board of Weld County Commissioners has been in receipt of your letter of December 19, 1973, regarding the parking lot exit of your new building at 3101 35th Avenue and your desire to have a stop light installed. According to Weld County road and bridge regulations all entrances and exits onto County roads must be approved by the County. Before completion of your new building Weld County Traffic Engineer John Campbell informed Mountain Bell representatives that a parking lot exit as proposed (and as now existing) would prove hazardous and that the exit should be placed at the top of the hill nearby. We still request that this be done. This problem need not have occurred. Sincerely, • Harry S. Ashley, Chairman Board of Weld County Commissioners HSA/ck .VELD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS HARRY S. ASHLEY GLENN K. BILLINGS PLC 'OY MOSES 0 740 37 9 Mountain Bell Greeley, Colorado December 19, 1973 Mr. Glenn Billings County Commissioner Greeley, Colorado Subject: Hazardous Condition Dear Sir: The Mountain Bell Company is in the process of building a new building at 3101 35th Avenue, South of Bypass #34. The new building will be completed January 8, 1974. There will be approximately 60 to 80 people working there. At the present time, there has been two close calls while entering and exiting the parking area. The entrance and exit of the Greeley 4-A Office is a hazardous condition. The hill to the North of the entrance only allows approximately 400 feet of vision from the crest to where you could see a vehicle entering or exiting the parking lot. A vehicle traveling at 65 miles per hour when reaching the crest of the hill would not be able to stop in time to pre- vent an accident. We are recommending that a stop light, activated by a photo cell, be installed. We realize that this doesn't alleviate the problem, but it might help to keep someone from getting killed or crippled for life. I would appreciate any help that you could give us on this situation. Yours truly, \\ r.--c' C "Cc,w G. E, Walters 910 27th Avenue Greeley, Colorado / / / rA`/ ≥ 7 f rtl ' /d (9?-- ", i lea"`: :?E , e')JI( 1 Hello
