Subject: 822 7th Street Building Parking Lot Design - Task Order (2022-0530)
Cairn Design, LLC was awarded the bid for architectural design/engineering for the Probation Offices
remodel and subsequent on -call design work.
The 822 7th Street Building Parking Lot needs repair. Civil engineering and design work is needed to ensure
proper drainage of this parking lot.
Cairn Design has provided a quote for this additional design work at $12,850.00 using the fees identified
in their bid. Therefore, the Facilities Department is recommending approving this task order in amount
of $12,850.00

TASK ORDER #1 PURSUANT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN
WELD COUNTY AND CAIRN DESIGN, LLC
Date: May 16, 2022
Project Title: Chase Parking Lot - Architectural and Engineering Services
Completion Date: September 16, 2022
Compensation: $12,850.00
Original Agreement: Weld County document no. 2022-0530
Pursuant to the "Original Agreement", the Parties may agree to additional work to be provided
by Contractor pursuant to an appropriately executed Task Order, which shall be negotiated
between the Parties on an as -needed basis. Any such Task Order shall be signed by the Weld
County Facilities Director before it shall be effective. In no event shall the total of all Task Orders
exceed $25,000 in any calendar year, unless first approved by the Board of County
Commissioners. Any appropriately executed Task Order shall be automatically incorporated
herein and enforceable.
Scope of Task Order:
The project will involve full civil engineering design and construction administration of the Weld
County Parking Lot at 827 7th Street in Greeley, CO. Cairn Design, LLC will provide civil engineering
design under this agreement including:
• Topographic surveying and base files including utility locates.
• Civil cover and detail sheets.
• Existing conditions and demolition plans.
• Horizontal control plans.
• Utility plans.
• Final grading plans.
• Final drainage letter.
• Sedimentation and erosion control plan.
Contractor agrees to perform the services identified above and on the attached Exhibit in
accordance with the terms and conditions contained herein and in the Original Agreement
between the parties.

In accordance with the fees identified in our bid, our lump sum price for this on call work for this
project is $12,850.00.
Scope of Work:
The project will involve full civil engineering design and construction administration of the Weld
County Parking Lot at 827 7th Street in Greeley, CO. Cairn Design, LLC will provide civil
engineering design under this agreement including:

Scope of Services:
The scope of services included in this proposal are limited to the following:
• Acquiring surveying from a licensed surveyor.
• Coordination with the utilities
• Coordination with the client as required to execute the scope of work.
Compensation:
Total Design Fee - $12,850.00
Changes in scope, additional trips to the site, or added services would be billed hourly identified
in the On -Call contract, unless a fixed fee is agreed to in advance for the specific service.

RE: Proposal for Civil Engineering Services for Parking Lot Resurfacing Design and
Engineering Services for 827 7th Street, Greeley, CO
Dear Mr. Caudle:
i2 Consultants, Inc. (i2) is pleased to provide you with this proposal, at your request, for
civil engineering services for Parking Lot Resurfacing Design and Engineering Services
for 827 7th Street, Greeley, CO, which is a Weld County project. This proposal has
been prepared based on information provided via email to i2 on May 6, 2022 and May
10, 2022.
This proposal includes the site/civil engineering fee. It is our understanding that all
architecture, site planning, landscape architecture, structural and geotechnical
engineering services will be provided by other consultants.
The civil engineering plans will be prepared in accordance with the appropriate
requirements of the City of Greeley and that this project will have an expedited review
through the City of Greeley.
The detailed scope and fee breakdown is provided below.
SURVEYING SERVICES
• Engineering Design Topographic Base File: A subconsultant to i2 will provide
existing topographic base information for the subject property. The survey will
include existing onsite features such as building finished floor, ground shots,
curb/gutter, inlets and visible utility markings.
This base file will be tied horizontally and vertically to a City of Greeley benchmark
on the NAVD 88 vertical datum.
This task includes private utility locates for the subject property area.
Surveying Services Fee: $3,400.00
This task does not include any construction staking, surveying or record drawing
surveying.

• Cover and Detail Sheets: i2 will prepare the cover sheet and required detail sheets
for the project.
i2 has assumed that the pavement section and recommendations will be provided by
the geotechnical engineer. The paving section can be provided on the detail sheets,
however, the section will be provided by others.
• Existing Conditions and Demolition Plan: i2 will prepare an Existing Conditions
and Demolition Plan for the subject site, showing existing items such as existing
buildings, onsite access/parking areas, landscape islands and drainage features.
• Horizontal Control Plan: i2 will prepare a Horizontal Control Plan for the subject
site, showing principal dimensions to the sidewalks, landscape islands and onsite
access/parking areas. This plan will include dimensions for parking stalls and drive
areas. The Horizontal Control Plan will include appropriate signing and striping
callouts for the subject site.
• Overall Utility Plan: i2 will prepare the Overall Utility Plan for the site. This plan
will show horizontal locations of known existing and proposed utilities and
appurtenances. Additional infrastructure and utilities are not anticipated for this
project.
• Final Grading Plan: i2 will prepare a Final Grading Plan at an appropriate drawing
scale for the subject site. The Final Grading Plan will show existing and proposed
contours for the site, spot elevations around the existing building, grade breaks and
ties to existing features around the site as well as spot elevations for landscape
islands.
i2 has assumed that the subject site will surface flow to the adjacent streets and that
storm drainage design will not be required. The Final Grading Plan will also indicate
the existing and proposed direction of flow for runoff from the subject site.
• Final Drainage Letter: i2 will prepare a drainage letter for the proposed onsite
improvements. The drainage letter will include calculations to verify the estimated
runoff during the initial and major storm events. On -site detention is not
anticipated as this site is currently as asphalt parking area. Furthermore, the
drainage plan for the project will also include stormwater quality practices
during construction.
This task does not include any off -site drainage/storm analysis or design. If
off -site design is required, this scope and fee will be negotiated separately.
• Sediment/Erosion Control Plan: i2 will prepare a Sediment and Erosion
Control Plan at an appropriate drawing scale for the subject site. The plan will

show the appropriate temporary and permanent measures to control sediment
and erosion from the site for existing conditions and upon final surface
stabilization.
i2 has assumed that the contractor will prepare the SWMP for submittal to the State
of Colorado.
Civil Engineering Services Fee: $8,250.00
It is assumed that one (1) set of comments will be addressed for this project.
ASSUMPTIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
The above scope of services is based on the following assumptions:
• Services such as architecture, planning and landscape architecture will be provided
by others.
• All geotechnical, environmental, mechanical and traffic engineering services will be
provided by others.
• Construction staking and record surveying is not included in this proposal.
• i2 Consultants reserves the right to revise this scope and fee upon new or
inconsistent information from the Town, owner or client. Furthermore, if the site
layout is revised or if project conditions materially change after the commencement
of design work i2 reserves the right to revise the scope and fee.
• Additional services for the project include, but are not limited to: revisions due to
changes in reviewing agency or governmental requirements after the
commencement of design work; revisions to project documents that are inconsistent
with prior instructions or approvals; and, services necessary due to contractor's
default or by defects in the work of the contractor.
