RE: APPROVE STATEMENT OF CONGRATULATIONS FOR KIWANIS CLUB OF
GREELEY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Greeley began in 1922 with 24 members of the
community, and
WHEREAS, the volunteers of this program assist with projects in the community to help
students/young adults with scholarships along with providing comforting blankets, books and
stuffed animals for children who are displaced in foster care, and
WHEREAS, some of the many projects within the community include packing food at the
Weld Food Bank, Stars of Tomorrow show, Project Night Night and Sweet Dreams in a bag, and
bell ringing for the Salvation Army; giving more than $1.5 million to the community over the past
century, and
WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Greeley is celebrating their 100 years of existence on
March 21, 2022, with a celebration dinner on March 26, 2022 and the Weld County
Commissioners wish to thank and congratulate The Kiwanis Club of Greeley for their years of
dedicated service to help children in Weld County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Weld County Board of Commissioners
congratulates the many volunteers for their selfless giving to children in Weld County and
encourages support to the Kiwanis Club of Greeley.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 23rd day of March, A.D., 2022.
