WELD COUNTY LONG-TERM CARE
RESIDENTS' RIGHTS MONTH
OCTOBER 2022
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners respects the rights of the more than 1,000
individuals living in seven nursing homes and nearly 700 individuals living in 23 assisted living
facilities in Weld County; and
WHEREAS, all residents should be aware of their rights so they may be empowered to live with
dignity and self-determination; and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Area Agency on Aging Ombudsmen program will be commemorating
Residents' Rights Month with the theme "Inspiring Unity Within Our Community," emphasizing the
importance of fostering meaningful community within the facility and encouraging residents'
connect to their local community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that
October 2022 be known as Weld County Long -Term Care Residents' Rights Month.
