HomeMy WebLinkAbout20223543.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE EXPENDITURE AUTHORIZATION AND WORK PLAN FOR WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) PERFORMANCE INCENTIVE FUNDS (PIF), AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN ELECTRONICALLY WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Expenditure Authorization and Work Plan for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Performance Incentive Funds (PIF) between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, commencing December 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2023, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said expenditure authorization and work plan, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said expenditure authorization and work plan, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Expenditure Authorization and Work Plan for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Performance Incentive Funds (PIF) between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, be, and hereby is, approved. Employment Services of Weld County (ESWC) received Performance Incentive Funds (PIF) from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE). Funds are awarded to local workforce boards for exemplary performance, regional cooperation with other local boards, and local coordination of program activities across systems. The funding streams, programs, and activities are subject to the laws and regulations of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). ESWC will use the Performance Incentive Funds (PIF) to support the Workforce Development Board, staff training, continuous improvement efforts and enhance WIOA programs in Weld County.
