SUBJECT: Crushed Concrete and/or Recycled Asphalt Product (RAP) for 2022
(BID REQUEST NO. B2200113)
Weld County Public Works Department went out to bid for the Crushed Concrete and/or Recycled Asphalt Product (RAP), B#2200113.
Two bids were received, and they were presented to the board on July 25, 2022.
This material has become increasingly more difficult to source from suppliers as it is a byproduct of construction on concrete and
asphalt roads and is being used as a renewable product in projects. Vendors sell these products quickly and m individual vendor may
not have the quantity of the product at the time Public Works needs the material for the projects, and they will not stockpile it for us.
Therefore, to procure the products when needed for projects Public Works recommends awarding this bid to multiple (2) vendors:
Kelley Contracting, LLC and J-2 Contracting CO. This will allow us to hopefully be able to purchase material when the demand is
needed for the projects. Public Works will ensure to purchase the material that is always most cost effective and stay within the
budgetary limits.
The budgeted amount not to exceed for this year's HRP project is $450,000.00
