Dear Fr. Billings,
am an 18 ye!,r old resident of ?Meld County. I just finished reading
your answer to a letter my mother had written previously concerning
the ?tiller feedlot. I don' t think ,you �.nswered her fully.
Some construction had been start d on the feedlot prior to the hearing.
Yr. Yiller must have been certain that he would get a permit.
Fy grandfather owns the majority of tti.e hc,lf section directly south
of the loc,-tion of the feedlot. He was not notified of this hearing,

Bec :use of what I have seen fret the case :nvolving the hiller feedlot,

Dear Mr. Burke ,
I received your letter regarding the Miller feedlot .
A number of people who apply not only for zone changes , but also
for land use permits begin construction on their projects before
their actions are approved. The Board of Weld County Commissioners
does not condone this and in cases where their application have
been denied at the hearing , the applicants have had to remove
their construction from the land.
My decision regarding the Miller feedlot was based on facts
presented at the hearing and a personal inspection of the site ;
I could find no grounds for a denial of the application.
I am sure that if you were in my position you would hopefully
make your decisions based on facts and not on politics . My
decisions are based on fact, Mr. Burke .
It is unfortunate that your grandfather was not notified for we
do require the Planning Commission to notify all property
owners in the immediate area of hearings concerning land near them.
Maybe he was not notified because of a technicality as to whose name
the property is under and how it is shown in the files of our
Clerk and Recorders office .
In reference to another statement in your letter, I would have
no objection to the Grand Jury investigating the Board of Weld
County Commissioners . That is the decision of the Grand Jury and
they will undoubtedly investigate all County departments .
I respect your feelings about my re-election also . However, if I
may be of further service to you while I am in office , please do
not hesitate to contact me .
