RE: APPROVE EMERGENCY BID #B2200135, 2022 STEEL BID, AND WAIVER OF
TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION -
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for Emergency Bid Request #B2200135, 2022 Steel Bid, for the Department of Public
Works, due to steel price changes and resulting mill increases, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-day
waiting period for said emergency bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for Emergency Bid Request #B2200135,
2022 Steel Bid, for the Department of Public Works, be, and hereby is, waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid from DBE Manufacturing and
Supply, LLC, in the amount of $348,185.40, be, and hereby is, accepted on an emergency basis.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 12th day of September, A.D., 2022.

SUBJECT: 2022 Steel Bid (Structural Steel), B2200135
As steel prices are rapidly changing and to avoid any mill increases, Public Works is requesting emergency
approval to waive the 10 -day waiting period before award as permitted by Weld County Code. This issue was
discussed at a work session held on August 23, 2022.
The Public Works department recommends purchasing all items from the sole bidder, DBE Manufacturing and
Supply. The items total $348,185.40.
