RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD CONCERNING REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING
TRAFFIC DURING TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 50 BETWEEN
COUNTY ROADS 53 AND 55 FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE (5) DAYS, FOR CULVERT
REPAIR
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a):
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
said County Road to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting
signs thereon, and
WHEREAS, at a hearing held on the 10th day of October, 2022, the Board found that the
temporary closure of County Road 50, between County Roads 53 and 55, with said closure to be
effective October 24, 2022, for approximately five (5) days for a culvert repair, be continued to
October 17, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., to allow staff further time for project review.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the temporary closure of County Road 50, between
County Roads 53 and 55, with said closure to be effective October 24, 2022, for approximately
five (5) days for a culvert repair, be, and hereby is, continued to October 17, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.
