Home My WebLink About20223174.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE AWARD LETTER FOR 2021 STATE CRIMINAL ALIEN ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SCAAP) GRANT AND AUTHORIZE CONTROLLER TO SUBMIT ACCEPTANCE ELECTRONICALLY WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been preserhted with an Award Letter for the 2021 State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) Grant to the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Sheriff's Office, from the U.S. Department of Justice, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said award letter, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said award letter and accept said grant, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Award Letter for the 2021 State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) Grant to the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Sheriff's Office, from the U.S. Department of Justice, be, and hereby is, approved and accepted. The Sheriff's Office has utilized SCAAP funding in prior years to offset the jail medical services expense. Only an employee (authorized representative or authorized point of contact) of the jurisdiction may accept the SCAAP funds for an eligible purpose. Use of funds must be selected, certifying that WCSO understands the guidelines and requirements. The approval is done by checking a box and clicking Accept. No signature is required. The Sheriffs Office, with the approval of the BOCC, submitted the SCAAP application in April 2022. The ACH transfer will be tracked and deposited into 1000-24410-4320-200; Inmate Services, Federal Grants. Controller Chris D'Ovidio is the JustGrants Administrator and can submit the award acceptance electronically. What options exist for the Board?
