I am excited to inform you that earlier today our Planning Grant Committee voted unanimously to
fund your planning grant with us.Congratulations!We are excited to have you on board.
Please now go ahead and proceed in eGrants,as instructed in this RFA for the narrative pieces
only.This should be mostly a copy and paste process from your"offline"Cognito application.I ask
that you complete this narrative process in eGrants by close of business,Monday,October 9.If
that timing is difficult,please get back to me indicating the timing that is best for you.
In the meantime,the committee vote allows Kay Emerson,our Director of Finance to,first,work
with you on the budgeting process.She will forward you an"offline"(outside eGrants)budget
worksheet that you will be working from before submitting in eGrants.Once the budget is
complete,Kay will then be able to begin the State contracting process.Know that the formal
(eGrants)application process and State contracting process are separate and work in parallel.An
executed State contract,which allows you to start charging on the grant,can move forward even
without an application in eGrants.You are also allowed pre-award costs up to 60 days prior to
receiving an executed State contract,which we expect to have complete in January.Kay will
follow up with you further on that as well.
Congratulations once again and have a great upcoming weekend.We will be in touch as we work
through the process.
