HomeMy WebLinkAbout20230654.tiffPROCLAMATION ERIE TIGERS DAY WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8, 2023 WHEREAS, on Friday, December 9, 2022, the Erie Tigers cheerleading team competed in the Class 4A state spirit championships at the Denver Coliseum; and WHEREAS, using a combination of teamwork, determination and skill, the Tigers earned a final score of 93.95 to win the state championship. The victory marked the cheer team's fifth consecutive state championship; and WHEREAS, winning a state championship is impressive in itself; however, starting a cheerleading dynasty, as Erie has done over the past five seasons, reflects an extraordinary commitment on behalf of team members, coaches and parents to work hard, sacrifice, and always place the team's needs ahead of individual pursuits; and WHEREAS, we are proud of the Tigers' success this season, and it is our belief that athletic and academic excellence sets our young people on a successful path for future achievement. Traits like teamwork, a strong work ethic, and perseverance aid in championship victories, but those same traits can be utilized by team members as they strive to reach other goals in life. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that the 8th day of March 2023, be known as Erie Tigers Day.
