WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT MONTH
SEPTEMBER 6, 2023
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners wish to reaffirm its support to
Employment Services of Weld County, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment,
the Colorado Workforce Development Council, educators, businesses, and economic
developers, in growing the future of workforce; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services of Weld County's (ESWC) programs innovate and
advance strategies to build a pipeline of skilled talent starting in secondary education and
continuing through adulthood; and
WHEREAS, ESWC collaborates with community and regional partners to ensure job
seekers have adequate resources, services, employment, and training opportunities to
enter or reenter the workforce; and
WHEREAS, the Business Services unit within ESWC connects with local employers to
provide opportunities for posting job openings, and to attend job fairs, ensuring a low
unemployment rate for Weld County; and
WHEREAS, ESWC is intentional in its work to align objectives as a region, including
significant work with Larimer County Economic Workforce and Development to shape the
Northern Colorado Economy; and
WHEREAS, the expertise, leadership, and innovation of Certified Workforce Development
Professionals and the High Performing Weld County Workforce Development Board,
strengthen the economy for business and the economic advancement of labor force
participants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, by the Weld County Board of Commissioners,
along with the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals, proclaim
September 2023 as Workforce Development Month.
