Dear Mayor Austin,
Congratulations! Town of Milliken is being awarded a Weld County CDBG program grant in the amount
of $154,000 for Milliken's ADA Ramp Project. The grant funds are to be used assist with costs associated
with replacing non -conforming ADA ramps in older, residential areas of Milliken. Grant funds are to be
used to replace thirteen (13) ramps to include survey and demolition costs, replacement of sidewalk to
ensure required ramp slope (where needed), replacement of curb and gutter and asphalt patching costs.
The Weld County Board of County Commissioners have set the priorities for the Weld CDBG Program to
be public improvements including adequate public infrastructure, housing preservation, and access to public
services. Additionally, the Weld County CDBG Program is designed to provide funding to address
community development needs in which at least 70% of the funding must principally benefit low and
moderate -income persons. This project meets the program goal(s) by providing access to public services
by reducing accessibility barriers.
All projects require some level of environmental review which could delay start of the project. The Town
of Milliken, as subrecipient, CANNOT begin to incur either administrative or program costs associated
with the project until an environmental review has been completed and a subrecipient agreement with the
Weld County CDBG Program is fully and properly executed.
