Home My WebLink About20231556.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE TWO (2) APPLICATIONS FOR 2021 AND 2022 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS FOR NORTHEAST ALL -HAZARDS REGION, AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN, AND DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO SUBMIT WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with Two (2) Applications for 2021 and 2022 Homeland Security Grant Program Funds for the Northeast All -Hazards Region from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Finance Administration and Office of Emergency Management, to the Colorado Department of Public Safety, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, commencing upon full execution of signatures, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said applications, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said applications, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Two (2) Applications for 2021 and 2022 Homeland Security Grant Program Funds for the Northeast All -Hazards Region from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Finance Administration and Office of Emergency Management, to the Colorado Department of Public Safety, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, be, and hereby are, approved. This grant provides approx. $500K in funding for the region annually. The Fiscal Agent role has been shared and rotated between the 4 largest entities in the region and would be a 5 -year commitment for Weld County. As Fiscal agent, the County is required to apply for the HSGP grant award. The BOCC approved the 2023 grant application on April 24, 2023. Since the 2021 and 2022 grants are still open, the BOCC will also need to apply for these grant years.
