RE: REGULATING, WARNING, AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF TWO RIVERS PARKWAY BETWEEN COUNTY ROAD 54 AND
STATE HIGHWAY 60 FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE (1) WEEK, FOR BRIDGE
FINALIZATION AND UTILITY WORK COMPLETION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a):
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personnel
investigations, the Board has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to
temporarily close Two Rivers Parkway, between County Road 54 and State Highway 60, to
through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting signs thereon, with said
closure being effective September 24, 2023, for approximately one (1) week for bridge finalization
and utility work completion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County
roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic
control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon
for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Two Rivers Parkway, between County Road 54 and
State Highway 60, be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective September 24, 2023,
for approximately one (1) week for bridge finalization and utility work completion, and further, that
standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the
restrictions.

SUBJECT: BOCC Agenda Item
Weld County Public Works is requesting retroactive approval from the board for an emergency closure on
WCR 31 between WCR 84 and WCR 86 for a culvert replacement. This closure occurred on August 30,
2023, and is anticipated to be closed until September 22, 2023.
See attached closure diagram.
Weld County Public Works is requesting approval from the board for a road closure on Two Rivers
between WCR 54 and HWY 60 for bridge finalization following utility work completion. This closure
will begin on September 24, 2023, and will be complete by September 29, 2023.
