EATON REDS DAY
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19, 2023
WHEREAS, the Eaton Reds wrestling team competed at the Class 3A state wrestling
championships February 16th through the 18th at Ball Arena in Denver; and
WHEREAS, after winning the state title last year, Eaton was determined to repeat in 2023; and
WHEREAS, the Reds were paced by several strong individual performances to claim their second
consecutive state championship and third in the last four years. Twelve of 14 Eaton wrestlers
earned top 6 finishes in their respective weight classes, giving Eaton a total team score of 128 and
the Class 3A state championship; and
WHEREAS, while wrestling showcases individual ability, Eaton's continued dominance speaks to
a teamwide mentality and desire to continually be the best, something only achieved by hard work,
determination and the ability to overcome adversity in pursuit of a goal. This is not something only
shown by team members, however. Parents play an integral role in the team's success through
continued support, and the commitment of coaching is also critical.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Weld County Commissioners that the
19th day of April 2023, be known as Eaton Reds Day. We congratulate team members, parents and
3A coach of the year Tony Mustari on a special season and join the Reds in celebrating their
accomplishment!
